WHEN DO I USE IT? PERMEABLE POLYURETHANE MEMBRANE A vapour permeable polyurethane membrane that acts as a barrier to liquid and microorganisms. WHAT IS IT? CovaWound™ Silicone Self Adherent Soft Silicone Foam Dressing with Border and CovaWound™ Silicone Self Adherent Soft Silicone Foam Dressing with Border (Lite) are absorbent, atraumatic dressings consisting of a soft silicone adhesive that does not stick to the surface of a wound or cause epidermal stripping or pain upon removal. Its absorbent core consists of a polyurethane foam and a non-woven fabric to lock in exudate and prevent the wound bed from drying out and the surrounding skin from becoming macerated. The outer surface of the product is a vapor-permeable membrane, which acts as a barrier to liquid and microorganisms. FREQUENCY OF CHANGE:

CovaWound™ Silicone

SELF-ADHERENT SOFT SILICONE FOAM DRESSING WITH BORDER

CovaWound™ Silicone dressing may be left in place for up to 7 days depending on the patient, the condition of the wound and surrounding skin, or as indicated by accepted clinical practice. CovaWound™ Silicone dressing should be changed when visible signs of exudate approach the edge of the dressing. The accumulative use of CovaWound™ Silicone dressing should not exceed 30 days. CovaWound™ Silicone is indicated for the management of moderate to heavily exuding wounds. CovaWound™ Silicone (Lite) is indicated for the management of light to moderately exuding wounds. Wounds such as leg and foot ulcers, pressure ulcers, traumatic and surgical wounds, and superficial and partial thickness burns. MULTI LAYER EXUDATE MANAGEMENT Designed to absorb exudate and prevent maceration of peri-wound skin. GENTLE SILICONE ADHESIVE Facilitates application and retention of the dressing to intact skin. Layer does not stick to the surface of a wound or cause trauma to delicate new tissue upon removal. HOW TO APPLY? 1. Cleanse the wound in accordance with normal
procedures.
2. Dry the surrounding skin thoroughly.
3. Remove the release liner and apply the adherent side to the wound. Do not stretch.
4. For best results the CovaWound™ Silicone Self-Adherent Soft Silicone Foam Dressing with Border wound pad should overlap the wound edges by at least 2 cm.
